In 1985 the cassette book ‘Wattenklänge’ was released on a private basis by the guitar duo Marcator/Mummert (then Entrance). It became quite popular among locals and tourists on the west coast of Northern Germany. In 2001 the musicians re-recorded the album as a CD under improved technical conditions, now as Marcator/Mummert. The album is still available in download and streaming. In 2003 ‘WattenklängeII’ was released, now on the PRUDENCE label. The instrumental music is mostly acoustic and in atmospheric pictures shows aspects of the Wadden Sea at the North Sea.
After Holger Mummert had retired from music making Marcator decided to complete the ‘Wattenklänge’ trilogy on his own in 2020. Life at the coast has changed and so have the musical influences. Now you can har flying kites in the music, ‘Drachenfliegen’, beach sailing, ‘Strandsegler’, cool beach bars, ‘Caipiranha’, and still the beauty and mysticism of the Wadden Sea in numbers like ‘Geisterreiter’ (ghost rider) and ‘Nebel über der Sandbank’ (fog on the sand bank). The cute symbol of this region, the seal, is not forgotten in ‘Papou der kleine Seehund’ and his pals.
