Bernd Scholl – Music Between Heaven and Earth
Bernd Scholl’s compositions are best described as “music between heaven and earth”: a masterful blend of earthy, grooving downtempo rhythms, captivating melodies, and relaxing ambient and chill-out sounds. His distinctive sonic worlds have earned him international recognition. Bernd Scholl regularly performs live and is considered one of Germany’s leading planetarium musicians.
He began his successful career in 1982 with Tales of Fantasy, which reached #3 on the British synthesizer charts. This was followed by releases such as Silent Nature (1986), Harmony (1989), Heaven on Earth (1990), and Magic of the Water(1992), all praised by critics for their atmospheric and meditative qualities. With Cosmic Symphony (1993), Secret Garden(1995), Light of the Moon (1997), and Mystic Voyage (2000), he further developed his signature style.
Bernd Scholl has taken listeners on musical journeys across the globe and into the universe (Circle of Trees, 2004; Road to the Stars, 2008). Live albums like Dawn to Dusk (2012) and the EP series The View From Here (2016–2018) showcase his joy of performance and versatility. Collaborations with Nik Tyndall and Rüdiger Gleisberg resulted in successful projects such as Dreamspheres (2004) and Culture & Spirit (2021). Most recently, he released Quiet Time (2022), The Winds of Autumn (2023), and a special live album compiled from concerts in the Neandertal Cave (2024).
In May 2026, Bernd Scholl’s new album “The Call of Spring” will be released.
