Atmospheric Sound Journey Through Winter
Robert Simon Thoma's Musical Tribute to the Quiet Season

At the age of twelve, Robert Simon Thoma first picked up a guitar—unaware that he had just found a lifelong companion. What began as a spark quickly turned into a passion: early band projects as a guitarist and songwriter soon followed. Alongside his professional career, he began studying classical guitar, ultimately discovering his deep connection to classical music and developing a special interest in film scores.

His creative journey spans many years and genres—from classical to rock—with countless original compositions. In 1998, he established his first professional recording studio. Just a few years later, in 2006, his debut solo album Winter was born.

In Winter, Robert Simon Thoma invites listeners on a contemplative and emotional journey through the season. With minimalistic means and a distinctive personal style, he brings landscapes and moods to life. The album moves through wintry themes and places—icy mountain nights in Bavaria, serene impressions of Ireland, and the festive warmth of Christmastime in Portugal.

Thoma's strength lies in his restraint. Inspired in part by artists like George Winston, he composes with natural rhythms and delicate, beautiful melodies that speak directly to the heart. Winter is more than an album—it's a sensory experience, a musical journey through space and time.
