Description

After searching for the musical roots of Central America on her previous album, "A Separate Reality", Alkimia Lux goes in search of the Celtic musical traditions of Great Britain, on her album "Angaelic Voices." The term "Angaelic", invented by Alkimia Lux, aims to combine the Gaelic and Ango-Saxon traditions with the symbolism of the Christian choir of angels.
Singing in languages including Gaelic, Latin, English and Catalan, she also uses her voice to create multi-layered choirs of complex harmonies, textures and counterpoints. Alkimia Lux combines songs such as "Angaelica" and "Maghera" in a traditional folk-rooted secular style with others, like "Laude Mysterium" Santé Morla" and "Stella Mundis" in Latin and Gaelic, reminiscent of church music.
