Description

With his new single “(I denk oft an) mei Muadda”, Williams Wetsox delivers a deeply personal story that resonates more than ever today.
Recorded at Forest Sound Studio with Fabian Exter, the track carries Wetsox’s signature style: heartfelt dialect, raw blues, and genuine human warmth.
The song tells the story of his mother, who was forced to flee East Prussia in 1944 — a young woman who found refuge in Bavaria and, with courage and dignity, built a new life.
But Williams goes further: the song is also a tribute to all who have lost their homes throughout history — from the Israelites to the Huguenots, Armenians, East Prussians, Sudeten Germans, Bosnians, and today’s refugees from Syria, Afghanistan, Africa, and Ukraine.
"Weida, imma weida – da Mensch is auf da Flucht" — “Onward, always onward – humans are on the move” — a line that runs like a red thread through the song.
A story of exile and loss, of strength and empathy, of humanity and remembrance. With “(I denk oft an) mei Muadda”, Williams Wetsox pays a musical tribute to his mother while holding up a mirror to the world.
A song that lingers — honest, moving, timeless.
