Max.bab – Live at Unterfahrt

With their new live album, the jazz band Max.bab returns to the place where it all began: the legendary Unterfahrt in Munich. Since their founding in the late 1990s, the band has played around 50 concerts here – mostly sold out, with their atmospheric Christmas concerts between the years long having achieved cult status.This special recording captures the unique atmosphere of such an evening – intimate, captivating, full of energy. Alongside classics from more than two decades of band history, Max.bab also presents brand-new, previously unreleased compositions. As always, all pieces are written by Max von Mosch (saxophone) and Benedikt Jahnel (piano), who, together with Andi Haberl (drums), form the core of the band.

For this live recording, the trio is joined by renowned Berlin bassist Marc Muellbauer and exceptional Berlin guitarist Attila Muehl, who enriches the Max.bab universe with his distinctive style and fresh tonal colors. Human Intent is a musical document of its time – a homage to a venue that became a home, and to an audience that has accompanied the band for more than 20 years. Authentic, emotional, brimming with joy of playing – exactly what defines Max.bab.
