Kupfer announce first single “Göttinnen und Götter” from new album

With “Göttinnen und Götter”, the Munich duo Kupfer releases the first single from their highly anticipated new studio album, which will be released in fall 2025. The song, which tells two powerful stories of self-liberation, combines everything that defines Kupfer: energy, depth and musical excellence.

“Goddesses and Gods” is about two people - an old man and a young woman - who free themselves from the shackles of society and find the courage to fight against the given. This emotional and powerful narrative is underpinned by Nick Flade's strikingly intense piano playing and a snotty slide guitar that infuse the song with an explosive energy. The typical copper sound is complemented by the Moog retrosynth bass, which gives the track an unmistakable depth.

Singer and guitarist Stefan Weyerer, who has significantly shaped the song both lyrically and musically, brings this elevation to self-empowerment to life with his dynamic and powerful voice. “Göttinnen und Götter” is an energetic dance that not only makes you think, but also invites you to get carried away.

The production and mix of the song was handled by Stefan Weyerer himself in his “Grandezza Studio” in Munich, where he worked with passion and dedication on the sounds and detail to capture the essence of Kupfer in every note.

Since their formation in 2017, Kupfer have wowed audiences and press alike with their impressive stage presence and special blend of lightness and depth. “Göttinnen und Götter” is the first musical foretaste of the upcoming album, which will present the unique signature of the two exceptional musicians in a new light.
