Description
Twenty years after its original release, “Sekänd Händ Blues” returns as an authentic piece of Munich blues in Bavarian dialect. Across 17 tracks, Schorsch Hampel and his Bagasch combine earthy blues, rhythm & blues and a powerful touch of rock’n’roll with witty, sharp and thoughtful Bavarian lyrics.
Whether telling stories from everyday life in Munich, sharing wry observations or exploring more melancholic moments, Schorsch sings the blues in the language of his native Isar Delta. Backed by an excellent band and numerous musical guests, he created an album that is both authentic and remarkably varied.
From laid-back boogie and soulful slow blues to atmospheric and almost psychedelic sounds, “Sekänd Händ Blues” reveals the full musical range of Schorsch & de Bagasch. The album offers convincing proof that you do not have to be born in Chicago or New Orleans to have the blues – sometimes Munich’s Westend is all it takes.
Originally released in 2006, “Sekänd Händ Blues” will finally be released in September 2026 on its home label, “Focus.”
