Oli Biehler began playing the piano at the age of five. At 12, he took part in music competitions for the first time. Since he was 16 he had his own band and at the age of 21 he signed his first record contract. From 1991 to 1997 he studied at the University of Music Karlsruhe and film composition at the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg with the Oscar winner Cong Su. At the age of 26 he already owned his first own music studio. Two years later he was part of the studio community „Transporterraum" in Berlin, which had formed around the music producer Moses Schneider. During this time, he not only wrote various film compositions, but also worked as an arranger and instrumentalist for artists such as Tocotronic, Beatsteaks and Ronan Keating. In 2007 he moved to the Ammersee, where he set up his studio on the Gut Raucherberg. 2014 saw his return to Berlin.

Since making his debut as a film composer for a feature film in 1999 with the TV film Delta Team - Auftrag geheim!, Biehler has written music for TV films such as Mein erster Freund, Mutter und ich and Ich habe es dir nie erzählt and cinema productions such as FC Venus - Angriff ist die beste Verteidigung. For his music in Mein erster Freund, Mutter und ich and Das siebte Foto, he received an award for Best Music at the 2004 German Television Awards.

He received a nomination for the German Film Award 2012 in the category "Best Film Music" for the film "Der Albaner". In 2013 there was a nomination for the German Music Authors Award of the GEMA. In 2017 he won the German Film Award for Best Film Score in Johannes Naber's film "Das kalte Herz" as well as the German Film Music Award of the IAMA (International Academy of Media and Arts).
