Julia, Ricarda and Constanze are connected through the traditional distillery "Preus' Hohe Prozente". Julia is the twin sister of Karl, the patriarch of the family business. Ricarda is his wife, Constanze his ex-wife. However, their love for the head of the family is the only thing the three share. When Karl dies unexpectedly, well-kept secrets emerge and it seems impossible to reach an agreement on his inheritance. A battle breaks out that deeply divides all involved: the repercussions of Karl's machinations plunge the family more and more into ruin - the following generation, Ricarda's daughters, Julia's son and his wife, seem doomed. But Julia, Ricarda and Constanze struggle, each in her own way, to free themselves from the past.
