About
"Singing Bavarian is very much in vogue at the moment. Accordingly, many are lagging behind. Zweckinger prefer to lead the way. Their original lyrics and the unmistakable mixture of folk, rock, country and pop already existed when music with Bavarian lyrics was usually only thought of Haindling or the Spider Murphy Gang. But even though Zweckinger sometimes really rocks and rolls, the quick-witted violinist and the four men on two guitars, bass and drums have other things in mind. They prefer to sing in many voices about familiar everyday experiences that you think you know, but which then, under the influence of Zweckinger's typical lateral thinking, gradually build up into turbulent, not to say crazy, stories. And what could fit better than these intricate, yet catchy melodies and the fuzzed-out violin and guitar arrangements? Exactly. But even Zweckinger can't do without influences. And that's why the author, composer and director Hanns-Christian Müller, who has worked with Gerhard Polt, the Biermösl-Blosn and the Toten Hosen among others, should, indeed must be mentioned here. He has accompanied the band in its initial phase with advice and action and thus ensured a good start. For many years now, the band has been on the road on Bavaria's stages. At every gig, they pump so much heart and soul into their music until the steam rises, and with their joy of playing they provide a little time-out in the daily tempo-drome of life."
Since 2020, the band has a new guitarist and singer in Dieter Zweckinger, whose fresh guitar sounds have ensured that they have been able to develop musically once again.
