With "Fat Fred's Favourites", the Regensburg rock band Sacco & Mancetti present their 13th studio album in 2025 - and remain true to themselves as rarely before: handmade, humorous, heartfelt and wonderfully headstrong.
18 new songs on a double album - created under almost mythical circumstances: After nine years away from the studio, bandleader Jockl Peithner ("Fat Fred") retreated to San Diego with a newly purchased guitar - and wrote 18 new tracks within nine days. What followed was a compact recording marathon between studio, rehearsal room and a Bavarian country house kitchen.
Mixed in Regensburg, mastered in London by Simon Heyworth (Mike Oldfield, Brian Eno, among others), Fat Fred's Favourites combines the raw energy of earlier years with the maturity and composure of a band that has survived on stages and record shelves for almost 40 years - and continues to inspire.
