About

The original core of the legendary Munich punk & new wave band MARIONETTES played together as early as 1977. In 1978 the German-American cult singer TOMI DAVIS and drummer Befeen completed the crazy but extremely creative new band. Soon they became the No.1 in the Munich music & underground scene and played in 2 movies of director Klaus Lemke. Cult and unpredictable concerts were the result and they supported Japan and also Police with great success.
Lothar Meid (Amon Düül and producer of Marius-Müller-Westernhagen) produced in the expensive Arco-Studio together with sound engineer Tom Winter (Boomtown Rats) the recordings for a complete Marionettes-Album, which never came out, because the wild combo disbanded completely according to the point ("to remain credible"). Six months later Sigi Pop and Günther B. formed the German funpunk trio Marionetz
