About
Birthday:
15.11.51
Residence:
Weimar (East-Germany)
Instruments:
Drums, Keyboards, Guitars, Bass, Akkordeon, Vocals, Electronics (starting out in 1968 with self-built synthesizers and machines, developing into the contemporary computer-based sampling technology of today).
Musicians:
EROC is the world's leading playback-specialist since 1970, there are very few releases from him with other musicians. The most important are "Kino" (1986) with the German artist Hans Reichel, 1998 re-released as "The Return of Onkel Boskopp" on CD, and "Eurosonic Experiences" (1999) with Urs Fuchs, bass-player with the German group "Farfarello".
Important steps along the way:
1966 drummer of THE CREW, 1971 to 1983 drummer and "mastermind" of GROBSCHNITT, besides working in the recording field in various studios, since 1974 own releases, starting out mainly with electronic sounds, later developing more and more into playback productions with many instruments. Leaving GROBSCHNITT in 1983 and then working up to 1998 in the WOODHOUSE-Studios in Germany as producer and engineer for over 150 productions with name bands. 1998 foundation of "Eroc's Mastering Ranch", today's leading facility for reamstering and digital sound-enhancement in Germany. Besides still working on musical projects and releases. No stops at all...
Musical influences:
First the early instrumental bands of the 60's (Tornados, Shadows, Spotnicks, Ventures), then @ 1966 mainly Frank Zappa, besides also upcoming bands like The Who, The Yardbirds, Steppenwolf, Vanilla Fudge, Creedence Clearwater, The Fugs, Captain Beefheart and many many others. In the 70's the world's leading "hater" of YES and GENESIS, the 80's were mainly boring, the 90's too. But maybe it'll get better soon...
Personal motto for life:
"Always look on the bright side..."
