A heartfelt Bavarian Blues tribute to Sigi Maron
With “San aufn Weg,” Williams Wetsox pay tribute to Austrian singer-songwriter Sigi Maron. Williams Fändrich first heard the song during a live radio broadcast in the early 1980s, and it has remained close to him ever since.
The new interpretation preserves the poetry of the original while translating it into the band’s warm and earthy Bavarian blues. Driven by vocals, guitar, Hammond organ and a relaxed groove, the song is about setting out, leaving pain behind and holding on to the hope of a better future.
Featuring Williams Fändrich, Mario Fix and Hans Mühlegg. Produced by Fabian Exter at Forst Sound Studio.
