After having recently released his last Blues CD “Suitcase full of Blues” in 2014 with Label Rough Trade and BSC Music, Albert C. Humphrey from Los Angeles is proving to be more than just a gifted Blues- and Gospelsinger with the production of his new Swing Jazz CD “For someone special” which will be released in July 2015 by BSC Music and distributed by Warner Music.
With the assistance of Nate Johnson from Chicago (AOC) Albert C. Humphrey has arranged twelve songs in the style of the American songbook, nine of which Albert C. Humphrey wrote personally.
“For someone special” is a collection of easy listening music, smooth and romantic love songs with a relaxing blend of Swing, Latin, Funk and Raggae elements.
The fantastic guitar solo on track 6 resembles the sound of Lee Ritenour and his version of “Fly me to the moon” is daring and nicely arranged. Track 8 features a wonderful fluegelhorn-solo and the warm sound of the Hammond organ in the background on track 5 is elegant.
The CD “For Someone special” was recorded in Madrid, Alicante (Spain) and in Munich (Germany) and features some of the finest and most talented musicians from both countries.
Special guests include: Nate Johnson (piano, piano electric, rhythm arrangements, string and horn arrangements, synthesizers) from USA, Axel Kuhn (saxophone) from German,
“Paxti” Francisco J. Urchequi (trumpet, fluegelhorn) from Spain, Gottfried Seidl (guitar) Germany and Arno Haselsteiner (drums) from Germany.
Blues- and other music fans alike will certainly enjoy special moments with Albert C. Humphrey’s newest CD “For someone special”.
