Dietz' Mundartdelta (V.Ö. 18.9.2026)
Description
To mark his 50th anniversary on stage, Dietmar “Dietz” Forisch has given himself a special gift: a deeply personal folk and blues album that was never originally planned.
For decades, Forisch has been a well-known figure in the Bavarian dialect music scene as singer, guitarist, songwriter, and bandleader of “schee daneem,” “a daneem,” and the “Hinterlandexbress.” The album began almost by accident during an acoustic session in the rehearsal room of his longtime friend and musical companion Manfred Brunner. When Brunner casually pressed the record button on his slightly vintage recording device, neither musician expected that the moment would become the starting point of a complete album.
What began as a single recording grew into a series of relaxed sessions during the summer and autumn of 2025. The project was enriched by the warm backing vocals of Karina Kaltenmarkner and Johanna Hammerl. The result is an album that values authenticity, musical chemistry, and the spontaneous spirit of musicians simply enjoying the songs.
Thematically, “Dietz’ Mundartdelta” is rooted in life along the rivers Inn and Salzach, the landscape that has shaped Forisch’s life and songwriting for more than three decades. These songs reflect on arrivals and departures, holding on and letting go, carrying on and knowing when to stop. They tell stories of ordinary people, memories, and everyday moments that reveal the deeper currents of life.
Across fourteen tracks, traditional folk songs, adaptations of celebrated songwriters, and original compositions flow together naturally. With the exception of one translated work, all dialect lyrics were written by Forisch himself, creating a unique linguistic world shaped by Bavarian, Austrian, and broader Alpine influences.
“Dietz’ Mundartdelta” is a musical journey through dialects, stories, and riverside landscapes—honest, handcrafted, and deeply connected to the place where the Inn and Salzach rivers meet.
The album is released exclusively on CD in a premium six-panel digifile edition.a
