Jolly Kunjappu, born in the Indian seaport of Madras, arrived in the early Seventies in Europe. There the world class percussionist collaborated with a variety of interesting and internationally famous musicians and bands such as The Rolling Stones, Alphonse Mouzon, Klaus Doldinger, Larry Coryell or Airto Moreira. With his first album for Prudence, 'Warm Embrace', he for the first time shows his exceptional gifts as a composer, conceptionist and performer of NIM.
The albums 'It's Magic' and 'Touching The Spirit' strengthened Kunjappu's international reputation among lovers of exquisite New Instrumental Music, while the purely acoustic 'From Here Forever' and the world music album 'Power Of Silence' proved the artists continuing interest in a broad scope of music. In 1994 Jolly organized concerts in Berlin and Munich to promote the idea of international, interracial and multicultural friendship, where he performed together with musicians from 14 different nations.
