After sharing many exciting years in the rock pop era of the 90ties with her earlier band, Micha Voigt leaves her male members to experience herself as a Singer Songwriter. With the acoustic guitar in tow, she travels much of the world and discovers a new passion in her musical performance. All the experiences on the road have made her a strong independent female musician. She still drives this force, culminating in the albums „Fire blue“ (2000), „Underwater“ (2007),„Going home“ (2013) and „Blue sky“ (2018).
Already with the debut „Fire blue“ she has won many hearts of the Americana - folk scene for herself. The album is still one of the timeless music albums of the Singer Songwriter genre today.
No Snakes In Heaven, whose head she is today, reflects the life of an all-rounder, who composes and arranges her own songs and records and mixes her own albums. Also on the second album „Underwater“ she works independently and simultaneously enjoys the support of fantastic musicians and friends in the implementation of her ideas and songs.
Now and as always, accompanied by her long time and faithful Duo Melanie Kraus (Cello) and Matthias Haupt (Guitar & Vocals), her fourth Album „Blue sky“ has come to fruitian and has taken on a more rockier approach to what, until now has been a laid back acoustic ensemble. Without sacrifing their strong albeit leisurely tones and tunes, this work is both: tense and exiting. Even refreshing.
For „Blue sky“ Micha worked in collaboration with drummer and sound engineer Uli Wortmann at his Studio in Bremen. There is also a stronger presence of guitarist Matthias Haupt as songwriter here.
In times of artistic deprivation she recharches herself by picking up the guitar. A new song is born. “Turn your music on” reflects the current situation of the years 2020/2021 and is a tribute to music itself, written for all the people who belief in its power and magic. “Music can support us, carry us and even heal us”, she says. “I understand it as my contribution in these pandemic times to give people a positive song, that reminds us of community and togetherness. With the hope of dance and encounters, joy and friends.”
And as always she is accompanied by her long time and faithful Duo Melanie Kraus (Cello) and Matthias Haupt (Guitar,Vocals) and drummer and sound engineer Uli Wortmann.
There will be even more new songs by No Snakes In Heaven in autumn this year.
