The
Millenium (and the media buzz surrounding it) has brought one of the
oldest dreams of mankind back into focus: a world united, with people
of nationalities, cultures, religions and races living together peacefully.
Politically and socially this is all far from reality. But many artists,
especially musicians, are quite a bit ahead: The blending of different
stiles and musical traditions, the breaking of cultural boundaries has
become the most important musical phenomenon of our times. It happens
most naturally where there are no language barriers.
Thus modern instrumental music has become
