The multi-talented husband and wife team known to listeners as Zingaia has introduced to the genre of World music an entirely different sound embodying the unusual mix of World instrumentation, with exotic chants and sensually erotic lyrics.
Gifted producer Michael Breene and dancer/author Katlyn Breene debuted in 1997 with their album "Beneath the Veil". Renowned US-music reviewer Steve Ryals praised the work enthusiastically after its release:"This eminently danceable, exotically sensuous album is a deliciously delightful romp through a garden of Tantric consciousness. A rare gift indeed." "Dancers of Twilight", released in 2000 ,introduced the artistry of Zingaia's newest member, the multi-talented vocalist and ethnic percussionist Abbi Spinner. The new songs, with lyrics by Katlyn and Abbi, evoke images of the God and Goddess in the erotic dance of life and love in a breathtaking mixture of sound, vocals and dance rhythms. Both albums feature Katlyn Breene's stunning cover, inlay and booklet art, and were co-produced by New Age music luminaries David and Steve Gordon. Zingaia is currently in the studio finalizing their third album, Soles on Earth, slated for release in early 2004.
On BENEATH THE VEIL, which now appears for the first time on PRUDENCE, world beat, ambient trance, exotic down-tempo grooves and alluring female vocals draw the listener in and weave their enchanting, mysterious magic. Layers of Middle Eastern percussion, heady organ tones, galaxies of space music effects, and the seductive vocals of Katlyn Breene and fellow vocalist Veronica Fabre invite you in a exoric and sensual world. In the US the album was especially popular amongst fans of Enigma, Delerium and Deep Forest.
