Ali N. Askan, born to Turkish parents in munich, Germany, studied at the Munich music academy and and later at the tv- and movie academy HFF, before working in Los Angeles for Frank Zappas “The YellowShark” project between 1991 and 1993. Since 2001 he is now based in Berlin and has made himself a name through his work in a variety of musical fields, including a lot of soundtrack work such as the score to the “Türkisch für Anfänger”-series. His soundtrack to the movie “Salami Aleikum" by Ali Samadi Ahadi earned him a nomination for the prestigious German movie award “Lola” in 2010.
