Martin Böttcher made his mark in Germany's cultural history through his eponymous work for two of the most outstanding efforts in the country's film history. He composed and conducted the soundtrack music for most of the enormously successful movies after the famous 'Winnetou'-novels by Karl May. Even more important were his scores for the 'Pater Brown'-crime movie series, starring Germany's most popular post-war actor, Heinz Rühmann. 'Kriminalfilmmusik' features the best tracks from Böttcher's 'Pater Brown' period - sixties crime atmosphere at its purest!
