Sputnik is a young group from the bavarian “Oberland” and is releasing their first album alles absicht on the new label biegen & brechen. Sonically, the band is somewhere inbetween German-Pop, inspired by the famous Hamburger- and Weilheimer-school and strange, sometimes even waltz-like sounds. sputnik definetly don’t want to give themselves any kind of limitations: “If we start to discover Ska, nothing, even our record or our musical background, could stop us from doing what we want to.” But they got some trademarks: Constant Midtempo, inspired Arangements and german lyrics with a style of their own. Due to the fact that sputnik are together since seven years, since the band’s members have been fourteen, the band has gained a lot of live-experience, but has also grown during the six weeks of self-paid recording-process in Munichs Portmanteau-Studio. So it’s not that surprising that the Süeddeutsche Zeitung, the famous Zundfünk, several Journalists and Musicians, all give their respect to the young lads from a small town called Geretsried.
